From broken homes we hit the streets. The song in our heart set on repeat. We hit the road, no place to go and no time soon will we retreat. The paths we walk they're all the same. The songs we sing won't go away. Sit back and relax. Take in all you see. If there's one thing that's for sure in life. Tomorrow's never guaranteed. So fill those tanks and warm em' up. Make sure poison fills my cup. We might be late, but that's ok because we're leaving your town the next day. There's a damn good chance we won't come back. We probably won't come back. So now's your chance take your shot. Make sure you give it all you got. One things for sure, won't go down without a fight. We're moving on to new terrain. Might be gone by the end of the night. Put this town in my rear view and leave it in the dust. One step closer to the only things I trust. Bakersfield California coming back to you. Back to my friends and family. The only things that are true. The only things in life. So fill those tanks and warm em' up. Make sure poison fills my cup. We might be late, but that's ok because we're leaving your town the next day. There's a damn good chance we won't come back. We probably won't come back.

Things look the same everywhere I go. The world get's smaller as my heart grows. Another state, another mile. That detour taken was worth while. Sun beating on my face and chest. I close my eyes I enjoy the rest of this 14 drive. Hope we make it out alive. If there's one thing I've come to learn. You get what you deserve, but only if it's earned. I don't wanna go home yet. Can I stay here for a while? One more city and one more mile. I don't wanna go home yet, can I stay here for a while? The time has come for fun to end. I'm leaving all my distant friends. I'm coming back to you. Hope I see you in a week or two. Wish I didn't have to leave, in my soul I still believe. I'll be back another day. We can sing our hearts and lungs away. If there's one thing I've come to learn. You get what you deserve, but only if it's earned. I don't wanna go home yet. Can I stay here for a while? One more city and one more mile. I don't wanna go home yet, can I stay here for a while? I wish I didn't have to leave. In my soul I still believe I'll be back another day. We can sing our hearts and lungs away

I'm Like You 02:10
I've told you this hundred thousand times before and I won't be subjugated to your lies anymore. Freedom isn't free that's what they try to tell me. I do what I wanna do I see what I wanna see. No trendy fuck can tread on me I've wrestled with the worst. When the well runs dry they'll cease to try they'll never quench their thirst. I'm like you, I'm all messed up inside. Just a victim of this sad charade that we call life. Not like me to take it out on you. It's all part of this emptiness and everything untrue. These fragile times throughout my life I try to simplify. Keep my heart under my sleeve. I'm sure that you know why. Been desecrated to the point that it can't beat. Until a friend comes along and shines a light on me. I'm like you I'm all messed up inside. Just a victim of this sad charade that we call life. Not like me to take it out on you. It's all part of this emptiness and everything untrue.

Stick to the back roads I'm sure you won't get caught. Turn up the radio, it's fuel for all these thoughts. High beams gleam off of this, this flat and painted stone. Real life's around the corner. Another place to call my home. I'm not alone (I got a drink in one hand) I'm coming home (With a drink in one hand) I feel I'm wasted in my mind. Caught somewhere between my own thoughts and this short time. Knuckles white, frustrated crossing lines. Foot to the floor this painted stone is all mine. I'm breaking all my records. Throw in the towel this time around. I'm calling you out, show your face, open up. This time around I'm calling you out. Don't let me down

I came home to something I thought was there. Turns out I was wrong I looked everywhere. The first person in years I thought knew me. First soul in life I could finally see. I realize now it wasn't to be. She'll find a new soul, one better than me. If she ever comes running back. I'll fold my arms let her run right past. Me and all the love I had. So much more I'd like to say, but things were meant to be this way. The sweet sound of laughter runs through my mind. Know I'm the better man for giving you some time. To find out what it is in life, what you really wanna love. I realize now it wasn't to be. She'll find a new soul, one better than me. If she ever comes running back. I'll fold my arms let her run right past. Me and all the love I had. So much more I'd like to say, but things were meant to be this way.
